Going to take a break from this and move onto something else, I think it’s at a stage where I’m fairly happy with it. There were more tiles planned for a more complete level but I’ll do them another time. It’s time to move onto something else.
Quick description of the simple obstacle at the end, the player is meant to control the mechanical hook in order to grab the two crates at the end and throw them into the electrified water in order to pass.

Working on a 2D Platformer style level, this is just the start. No foreground elements as of yet so it can barely be called a platforming level :P but it tiles without seams so is reusable.
Meant to be a tunnel leading into a run down secret facility.
Rendered most of the objects separately in 3D Studio Max using it’s bake to texture feature, and then painted over said objects on the texture sheet for a more “painted” look.

Really really early stages yet, still got alot of props to add to this as its looking rather empty. I’m going for a horror-type scene with this one, hence the dark lighting. I will be breaking up the green with bits of red, thats basic colour scheme I’m aiming for anyway.
The whole thing is currently untextured, some bits have basic normal maps and ambient occlusion maps in place but there are no real textures yet.
The glow on the cieling lights was done in Photoshop and are temporary, I haven’t figured out how to do glows like that in 3D yet. (but will be learning how to hopefully for this scene)
