Making a small scene so I can get to grips with organic nature based stuff, someone had pointed out that I had practically no organic stuff uploaded and they were right as I’ve never made these types of things :(. Pretty fun to make though.
At the moment all very WIP, tree, camp fire props, and foliage are all untextured aside from abit of AO. The tree will probably remain leafless but I will add some more branches by baking some down to planes.

Hey there, Alex! I just found your blog and I am becoming a fast fan of your work. It has been really exciting to read your earlier entries and see just how you have progressed with quality and style. It's all extremely impressive work!
I had a question on the rocks in this scene. Did you use a texture projection to get such a consistent look to them or were they unwrapped?
BTW, I started taking a look at UDK because of your work here. Have you thought about possible making your own game or environmental walk-through to either release or sell yourself to developers?
Hello Kriss, thanks for the comment. As for the rocks they were sculpted in zBrush, brought into Max, made low poly and then UVW unwrapped. I then baked in details from the high poly to the low poly in the form of Normal and AO maps and then made the diffuse in Photoshop, no Specular as of yet.
As for making my own game, I've had some thoughts about it. I've experimented with Unity for a little while but that idea is taking a backseat while I sort out my art skills. No I've never thought to sell myself to a developer (because I have nothing to sell? :S), but hopefully I'll be looking for a job from one once my portfolio is sorted :). Thanks for taking interest in my work.
